If your bottle is made of plastic or other synthetic material, you can take it with you even when filled. You just leave the bottle in your bag when you go through the security check. If your bottle made of metal youe need to either empty it or drink up beforehand. Or simply come to the airport with an empty bottle. It’s possible to fill your bottle again after security. This is from the airports website
The old rules still apply to non drinking water, for other liquids you can still only take 100ml bottles tubes etc.

Throughout the whole airport there are several water fountains located. Our passengers will be able to fill their empty bottles with these fountains as the tap water in The Netherlands is drinkable.

Thanks to everyone’s comments I found the map and fountains! There are 3 here outside toilets. The one outside D12 was better than the ones in the lounge area for filling a bottle though.

Bottled water can cost as much as 3,30 euros for a small 25cl bottle here, scandalous. There are free drinking taps in the airport, mostly located near the entrance to the WCs.

Can confirm in 2023 there is still a water fountain outside toilets by gate D12 and the toilets underneath McDonald’s

Saw one more somewhere else last year, I think it was somewhere near where a big clock is, towards the toilets.

Every tap gives you drinkable water in the Netherlands. Just fill your bottles in any of the toilets inside the airport.

Tried to fill up at D7 but the water station in the gate is still closed due to COVID. Managed to use a fountain to partially fill some bottles at bathrooms right across. The stream was high enough to fit most bottles under to get some amount of water. Not ideal but it works. #plasticfree @Schiphol
As of July 2022, all water fountains seem to be out of commission due to renovation. Bottles can be filled in some bathrooms, where the taps are tall enough and have cold drinking water.
#plasticfree @SchipholIt would be great to have these on a map. I travel through Schiphol often and haven’t spotted a water fountain yet. It would be great to know where to look.

I agree, I would be more than happy to include a map, just need the airports to send me one, but most do not show water fountains on their own website either.

December 2022, the one under McDonald’s is still there.
#plasticfree @SchipholThey now have actual water bottle filling taps to refill your empty bottle. The water taps have been removed and replaced by these filling stations now. ( September 2021)
#plasticfree @SchipholDrinking fountain upstairs between F and G gates by the bathrooms next to McDonalds. Bottle filling station is just below there, under the escalator (strange spot for it)
