I recently flew from Cardiff airport to Doha. The lady behind the bar was quite happy to fill my drinking beaker with free tap water, even offering me ice. The airport was not very busy, not sure I would feel comfortable asking during busy periods. However, I did notice a water fountain as I went through to the departure gate. It is just after the steps by the first gate on the right hand side. Why this isn’t in the main departure area I have no idea.

From Nathalie Wickens, Terminal & Customer Services Manager at Cardiff Airport
Here at Cardiff Airport we are currently undergoing large terminal developments to match our increasing passenger numbers, however we are still a small airport (with big future plans!).
At present we do not have a set aside fountain or water bottle filling point, HOWEVER all of our eating and drinking facilities will happily fill passengers bottles for free. During busy periods and the summer months we will also have jugs of water on the side of the counters of the bars for passengers to help themselves to water.
Our passengers respond well to this, and our security agents do encourage passengers to take their emptied bottles with them through to departures to have them refilled when emptying them at the security point
Hi, food outlet staff are more than happy to refill water bottles. We will ensure that this is communicated to all new team members. If you’d like to discuss further please email [email protected], thank you.

We flew from Cardiff last week and asked staff if we could get our water bottle refilled. They said no and that we would have to buy a plastic bottle of water from the stores! Come on Cardiff airport management. Train your staff properly and put up notices. You have received public money and you can’t be bothered to supply a water fountain and encourage the use of more plastic bottles.
I’m travelling from Cardiff airport next month. Can you still get free water from food outlet staff or do you now have water fountains in place?
As you can see from the message from Dawn, there is a water fountain and the food outlets will fill bottles, it would be great if the airport would say if and where they have water fountains.

Flew from Cardiff on 13 02 2019, and was pleased to see that a refill water bottle station has been installed outside departure gate 10. The water station is not advertised on of any of the info about Cardiff airport.
